Weapons Detection System

MPS has implemented an additional layer of security protocols at our school campuses for this year. This year at graduation, you will see weapons detection systems at all of the gates. These are the same systems used at venues such as Chase Field and Seaworld, along with others. These systems are mainly looking for weapons including guns and large knives. Some things that set it off are hard eyeglass cases, three ringed binders, and laptops. To avoid issues at the gate, please leave any larger items such as these in your vehicle. Items that will not set it off include: phones, keys, eye glasses. Also, these devices have been certified to be safe from medical devices and implants, such as pacemakers, cochlear implants, etc. If you are concerned, see one of our security personnel at the gate.
